THE LIGHT OF ETERNITY

Last week I received word that an old friend, who walked with me through many changes, had died. She was my second wife and the most unusual woman I have ever known. We were together for eighteen years and seldom saw eye to eye but the contrary, contradictory nature of our relationship seemed to fit my life and aims very well during our tumultuous years together.

I wrote the following poem in honor of her life.

THE LIGHT OF ETERNITY

Some leaves fall more gracefully than others;
Still, precious time passes away so soon.
Treasured dreams wither and fade into oblivion,
But love has no beginning and will never end.
It is the light of eternity for us all.
